Cadillac’s new CT5 will start at $41,998 in Canada when it hits dealers early 2020, the automaker said early December.

The CT5 is positioned as one of the volume-sellers in Cadillac’s totally revamped sedan line-up, and the pricing reflects that.

That base number, which includes transport and prep fees, is for the Luxury trim car.

Step up to either the Premium Luxury or Sport CT5 and you’re paying $44,998 before options. The level playing field between those two trims makes it totally up to you whether you want a performer or a cruiser.

The base engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, but you can move up to a 3.0L twin-turbo V6, good for 335 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque, in the Premium Luxury trim for an MSRP of $51,223.

Caddy says new V-Series’ horsepower is lower because drivers were ‘intimidated’

If you’re looking for a real high-performance ride, the CT5-V now starts at $51,998 and bumps that six’s power up to 360 hp and 405 lb-ft. Adding AWD to any and all trims – they’re RWD standard – adds a flat $2,200 to the price.

If you’re worried about options running up the base prices, consider all CT5s come standard with automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, an HD backup camera, a 10-speed automatic transmission, Cadillac’s updated CUE multimedia system with 10-inch touchscreen, keyless entry and heated front seats and steering wheel.
