Nanaimo RCMP detachment partially closed over suspicious packages

NANAIMO, B.C.—Two suspicious packages found on a lawn adjacent to the RCMP detachment in Nanaimo, British Columbia, have caused the partial closure of the police station.

RCMP say the two cardboard packages were found at about 10:30 a.m.

An RCMP explosives dog carried out a preliminary assessment of the packages and a disposal unit was being consulted.
