Trump issues full pardon to Conrad Black
Canada
U.S. President Donald Trump has fully pardoned former Canadian newspaper publisher Conrad Black, calling him entirely deserving of the gesture.

Black served nearly 42 months in a Florida prison after he was convicted for fraud and obstruction of justice. He was also fined US$125,000.

In a statement, the White House described Black as an entrepreneur and scholar who has a distinguished reputation for helping others and worked as a tutor in prison.

In light of these facts, Mr. Black is entirely deserving of this Grant of Executive Clemency, the statement read.

Black has been a vocal supporter of Trump and often writes op-eds in support of the president. Last year, Black published a biography of Trump in which he described the president as a personal friend.
