“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” the agency says. “There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.”
If you cannot avoid travelling, Environment Canada suggests carrying an emergency kit and mobile phone with you and keeping someone informed of your whereabouts.
Monday’s weather is expected to be “mainly cloudy” with a high of -9 C and a wind chill around -17. Temperatures will drop to -19 C in the evening and the wind chill will plunge to -28 overnight, bringing a risk of frostbite, according to Environment Canada.
On Tuesday, the weather agency predicts, the high will reach -11 C, with a wind chill of -28 in the morning and -19 in the afternoon. Wednesday is forecasted to be warmer, with a high of -3 C and a low of -9.
