The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum played Fred Andrews, dad to Archie (KJ Apa).
“This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed,” Aguirre-Sacasa wrote in a tweet that included a photo of Perry. “As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son.
“Wish these scenes could go on forever...” Aguirre-Sacasa continued.
Aquirre-Sacasa tweeted last month that the first episode to air since the actor’s death would be dedicated to Perry, “as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.”
Perry, a supporting player on Riverdale, which focuses on the teen characters, has appeared in subsequent episodes. He didn’t appear in every episode, but Fred offered wisdom and gravitas, needed traits in a small town where wild things happen.
