A matchup of two Norris Trophy-worthy defenceman. Nashville’s P.K. Subban had two assists in a 4-1 win in Montreal Saturday in what was his sixth game since returning from a 19-game layoff with an upper body injury. He has three goals and 12 assists in 25 games to date. A finalist for the Norris last season — he won the award in 2013 — Subban has accomplished much of what Morgan Rielly is aiming for. The Leafs defenceman leads all NHL blueliners with 45 points.

The Predators have shaken a six-game losing streak with points in each of their last four games (3-0-1), and are jockeying with the Jets for first in the Central Division … Nashville has two key players on injured reserve: forward Filip Forsberg and defenceman Yannick Weber. Forsberg and Craig Smith lead the Predators with 14 goals each. … The Predators, with arguably the most well-balanced defensive corps in the NHL, have allowed a Western Conference-low 109 goals.
