The home run Roberto Alomar hit off Dennis Eckersley in the ALCS 25 years ago Wednesday – and if that doesn’t make you feel old, I’m not sure what will – has to be the most significant hit in Blue Jays history, right?

I remember sitting at the Thanksgiving dinner table at whatever Casa Doug was a quarter of a century ago with one eye on the television and the drama of the homer was incredible.

It led to the first World Series, took a big monkey off the collective back of the franchise, it came off the game’s premier reliever at the time; all of that makes it the most important one ever.
