Edmonton driver caught going over 160 km/h with baby in back seat

Edmonton city police put the brakes on several speeders over the holiday weekend, including one car that clocked in at more than 160 kilometres an hour along the Anthony Henday.

A member of the traffic enforcement section (TES) pulled over a BMW 750i travelling down the Henday near 137 Avenue just after 5 p.m. on Saturday after observing the vehicle travelling 163 km/h in a posted 100 km/h, police said in a Tuesday news release. The officer also noticed the driver had his month-old daughter in the back passenger seat, police said.
