Audi is bringing its latest sporty SUVs to the North American market, the 2020 SQ7 and SQ8. The vehicles slot right under the RS Q8 in terms of performance.
Under the hood of both vehicles is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which produces 500 horsepower and 568 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Both vehicles can accelerate to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in 4.3 seconds, on to a top speed of 155 miles per hour (250 km/h).
The wheels do more than just handle all that power — the SQ7 and SQ8 are also equipped with all-wheel steering, which can increase maneuverability in tight situations and aid with high-speed stability. The performance is aided by the available quattro sport differential, which can send up to 80 per cent of the power to the rear axle. Power can also be ratioed out side-to-side for improved handling.
The technology doesn’t end there. The vehicles are also fitted with electro-mechanical active roll stabilization, which stiffens the front and rear roll bars in more active driving situations.

As for the styling, the S line elevates the style of the standard Q7 and Q8 with Alu-optic or Black-optic design elements such as the air intake “blades,” side sills, standard silver mirror caps and quad exhaust tips.
The 2020 Audi SQ7 and SQ8 SUVs will arrive in late spring. Pricing to be announced.
